Councils across the country are being forced to shut down their youth services following huge budgets cuts from eleven years of austerity. However, in Lewisham, we have awarded a four-year contract to Youth First because we recognise the vital importance of maintaining youth services. We are also developing new, targeted youth work to support young people at risk.
